Scientist turned dancer, Arun Pauer is a master’s graduate from the University of Edinburgh and a former Asia Salsa Champion. With over 16 years of teaching experience since 2009, he has taught in more than 25 countries and performed at over 200 international festivals. As the founder of Salsa Madras, Arun plays a key role in promoting Afro-Latin dance culture across India and Europe, building vibrant communities through his teaching, music, and creative projects.
Arun Pauer is the Founder and Director of Salsa Madras, and a true multi-dimensional artist — dancer, instructor, performer, DJ, organizer, mentor, and music producer. A scientist turned dancer with a Master’s degree from the University of Edinburgh, Arun has dedicated over 16 years to spreading the joy of Afro-Latin dance across India, Europe, and beyond.
A two-time Asia Salsa Champion, he has taught in 25+ countries, performed at 200+ international festivals, and continues to be a driving force in the evolution of Latin dance culture. His expertise in Salsa, Bachata, and Kizomba combines deep musical understanding with exceptional teaching clarity, allowing him to connect with students of all levels — from absolute beginners to aspiring professionals.
As an instructor and mentor, Arun is deeply committed to education. Through Salsa Madras Online, he offers structured tutorials, online courses, and teacher training programs, guiding dancers and instructors around the world to refine their technique, understanding, and teaching skills. His mentorship has inspired a new generation of teachers who now carry forward the Salsa Madras philosophy across continents.
As a performer and DJ, Arun brings passion, precision, and creativity to the stage and the dance floor. His events — from Madras Mambo Night to Ritmo Madras — are known for their warmth, energy, and inclusivity, offering dancers the perfect environment to connect, grow, and celebrate Latin culture.
